World’s largest set of forest-related risk assessments online
NEPCon has published the biggest and most detailed set of risk assessments for timber, palm oil, soy and beef. Among other things, the Sourcing Hub is intended to help companies meet the due diligence requirements of market regulation such as the EU Timber Regulation. It includes assessments of the risks of illegal timber production and trade in 62 countries, covering 87% of global timber production.
It also has guides to the applicable legislation in each country and explains what key documents look like and mean.
“By helping companies source legal timber, the NEPCon Sourcing Hub will help the legal timber trade around the world prosper,” said Alexandra Banks, Forest Legality Expert at NEPCon.
For palm oil, soy and beef, the resource includes assessments of environmental, social and legality risks in 10 countries. It covers 82% of global palm oil production.
The Sourcing Hub is free and easy to use. It includes practical advice on how to mitigate any risks it identifies.
NEPCon is holding free training workshops on the EU Timber Regulation and the Sourcing Hub in 12 EU countries in the coming months.
