The Consultation aimed to inform participants about the latest Forest Law Enforcement Governance and Trade (FLEGT) developments, and to provide an opportunity for them to voice opinions about FLEGT Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) processes.
The reports of two joint observation missions carried out in the Central African Republic in August and December 2017 have been published. These missions included representatives from the Ministry of water, forests, hunting and fishing, as well as from the Mandated Independent Observation - Centre for Environmental and Sustainable Development Information.

The Central African Republic and the European Union (EU) have reiterated their commitment to make effective the implementation of their Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) aimed at curbing illegal logging. The Financing Agreement signed in 2012 with the EU is about to be implemented and will significantly contribute to this implementation.
